Id stay away from the traxxas man. If your gonna spend $100, save another $100 and get the 4pl futaba that has epas for all channels and has a real feel. I have a traxxas a don't like it. For drag break that's done with your esc.

Yeah, I wouldn't reccomend buying one new, maybe if you get a screaming deal used... but you'll still be missing out on the features and feel of a good radio. Check out used deals on a DX3r or 3Pks - awesome radios with tons of features to support your entire fleet. Even a used dx2.0/3.0 is a huge upgrade from traxxas - adj tension wheel, expo, epa, digital trims etc... |

Or even cheaper route but still just as good but the flysky system. Check out losikid in the vendor section, you can get either the hacked version or the stock

I have had my fair share of those radios, they are a major pain to program do to the count the blinks system, I would go with a spektrum or futaba or even flysky. I love my generic gt2 flysky, simple with the basic must haves. and yes your drag brake is done from the esc |

Spektrum dx3e is a simple one and if you buy the little system you get a remote, reciever and a servo for $100 and its a 3ch with epa settings and an 3 pos switch that you can move from 2pos, 3pos and lin. The remote by its self is like $55 and is take it over a traxxas any day. But its your money so its your choice.

I'm surprized no one asked, but, what kind of rig is this for?? If you only need a 2 channel and you only want to have fun, the Traxxis may be "OK", especially if you can get it cheap. But, if you need 3 or 4 channels, run a MOA, want rear steer, etc., the best bets are (in no particular order): Flysky Futaba Spektrum I prefer Futaba ( I have a 3PM-x, my son has a 4PL) and have never had issues. |
