Cs170 dosnt have enough I have a xr10 and the cs170 just dosnt do it. Is there a better servo that is 24 teeth and fin on an xr10? |
HiTec servo's have 24 splines. Pretty much ANY servo (with the exception of some of the giant scale ones) will fit. Things like the HiTec 7955TG, 7950TG, etc. Do you comp or run for fun? If comp 250inoz + is a starting point. You will likely need an external BEC as well (let us know what ESC you have). Most of us use the Castle Creations 10A BEC."thumbsup" If you'r just having fun close to or above 200inoz is a good starting point. Go to www.servocity.com and look at sizes & specs of servos.8) |
Add the external bec that charlie explained to that servo and have it set to 6.0 volts! You will see a noticeable difference. If money is not an issue purchase a new Hi-tec servo but also include a bec. Either way adding a bec is a must."thumbsup" |
Charlie, That servo has 333oz/in @ 6V. I'm not sure what he means by not enough but it certainly is enough for my Bully MOA. |

The BEC suggestion is worthwhile since the OP never mentioned his ESCs and or if using duals or a dig switch. I do love the partial info some people give out. |

Ummmm........(son chiming into my post.....sigh) he was running a 7955, then a 7954 and neither were enough, now he is running my "spare" 7950. We both run CC 10A BEC's wired direct."thumbsup""thumbsup" |
I'm running 2tekin fxr's and 45t motors with a cc bec 7.5 oz in front of each hb rover tire with ci dual stage foams soft outer med inner |
And a robitronics long servo horn |
7950 for the win! I upgraded from a CS-170 and it is way more powerful. Also xr steering linkage is known to be tough to turn, I'm sure you can find some useful info in the XR section on how to upgrade the steering linkage to get the most out of your servo. |

Are you using a 3S battery? I'm using the same set-up and have never felt that it was under powered and can walk the truck just using the servo. Still not sure what you mean by "not enough". As Charlie said, he went to the 7950 which has 403oz/in @6V or 486oz/in @ 7.4V. |
Go for the big boy if it will fit I had a 7950 and changed to a 7980 and its night and day. You can lift the truck when its sideways and move rocks around when your tires are wedged. You definately need the ccbec either way |
Im running the exact same servo with CC BEC and its strong. Its not as strong as the high end hitec servos but for the price I wouldnt mind getting another one. "thumbsup" |
