Default fan.

Hey I got this new fan and dont know how to hook it up.

Here it is.

I am putting it in my slash. I got a picture of another slash that I am trying to "copy" the idea from.

Rcshortcouse.com is down right now. So Ill get the picture later.

Someone suggested a BEC, Ive got no idea what that is. Thank you.

Slash from rcshortcourse.com. Noone over there wants to help me for some reason, so I came over here to you guys.

Its in the window if you dont see it.

I'll bite. What battery are you running? That fan is rated to 12V (says on the package) So as long as you aren't running more than a 3S lipo battery you should be fine hooking it directly up to the battery. It would probably be wise to use a 12V BEC to provide the fan with regulated voltage:

HobbyKing R/C Hobby Store : 12V 4.5A UBEC 2-5S Lipoly (12-23v)

Plug it in to any open slot on your receiver. Red wire on the middle pin, black wire on the pin closest to the outside of the receiver case.

I dont get that part(stuff in yellow).

And the connectors on the fan are way too fat haha. So I can plug it in.

IF you want to wire it up and plug it into your receiver goto your LHS and get a servo extension, cut off the fan's original plug and the female side of the servo extension then simply solder the wires together (red to red and black to black) and ignore the signal wire (usually yellow or orange).

However if you do this you will only be giving the fan around 6V (whatever your ESC's internal BEC delivers) so it will run slower than if it were run at 12V which it's intended to run out (according to the package).

Here ya go.

Take your fan to somebody who can change out connectors for you, and tell 'em you need one of these installed. Red wire in the middle, black wire in the hole farthest away from the locator tab.

he asked what i did with mine basically, so i told him i run a bec, off the bec i power a hitec servo, leds, and a fan. if i tried to plug them all into my traxxas micro 5ch in my slash, or in my beater crawler, it would glitch like crazy.

so i was assuming he'd want to run leds (front and back) and maybe a stronger servo later on down the road.
