using one in my truck now, 1268, works like a charm, taken some hard falls and binds and always comes out smiling.

Only persistent rumor I've heard about them is that they're a little amp-hungry, so a good BEC is pretty much a must. As far as quality and durability, I've seen very few reports of people not happy with them. I'd keep 'em on the short list if I was in need of a new servo.

Mine in my comp crawler works very well, the only downside is they are noisy servos so they get a little annoying but thats my only complaint!

Re: Savox servo's

I have a savox sw0231 wp in my power wagon that I have been having issues with not sure why. Steers tires if I hold front of my truck off the ground, but then when I put in down it does not turn them at all. Took it apart and none of the gears look like they are striped not sure what to do next. Anyone got any ideas ?

Test your battery to make sure it is putting out enough amp.the check the motor the servo to see how many amps it is pulling. What size tires are you running and what model servo are you running it may not have enough torque. Also is it a new or used servo? Have you used it before on this truck?

Good job on using the search functions but I'm sorry to say you have entered a thread that was last posted in 2011. Due to the nuclear fall out of 2012 these people have yet to return from their shelters to re claim the human race.

- you check binding in steering with servo dis connected?
- you may have burned up the motor on servo..... with it off manually turn the horn, does it Soupernd normal and does it seem to move freely for a servo?
- side note you didnt add grease to gearset did ya?

Viva las radiation!

He did state what servo he is using...... It's the wp sw0231 that is a par servo at that. @ 208 oz on 6 volt. Anything under 300 oz is going to be a suck fest...... But hey its water proof.

Yea I noticed that even after I had looked up the torque on that servo. It was so helpful of you to point that out good job:flipoff::flipoff:. That's why I asked tire size.

Re: Savox servo's

im using the sw0231 on my dingo with battery up front and a whole lotta other stuff and it steers fine on the ground with the weight on it, even if i steer fast between directions it goes end to end no problem and with good speed.

i am powering it through a castle bec though just to make sure it gets what it needs.

Re: Savox servo's

i have tried two different savox sa1230sg (500 oz) servos in the front of my old ax10 scorpion and like others have already mentioned it works great but man this thing is loud. i mean really loud! the loudest servo ive ever owned. i could easily hear it buzzing if i put my rig down and walk across the street (4 lanes) and that's with no steering input from the tx. does anyone know if they get quieter after they break in? if it doesn't get better im going to have to put this thing in my emaxx just so i don't have to stand next to it. lol.
i have another savox sc0251mg in my wraith and its fine not loud at all but alot less torque (222 oz) maybe someone knows if they are only loud if you go above a certain torque rating? or does more torque just = more noise with savox?
