Default castle sidewinder problems

my friend has a problem with his crawler and when you turn all the way left or right it wont move even if you floor it... it only moves if you let off the steering about a 1/16 of a turn.. its a real bother when your trying to turn when its in a bind or something because you need to be able to turn as hard as possible and when you do you lose all throttle

his rig has a sidewinder, hs 5645 and a stock am radio

Sounds like the RX is browning out when the servo pulls high power.
This can be fixed with an external BEC.

that makes since because if you get to crawling on carpet it loses steering and throttle until you put your steering wheel in the position that the crawler wheels are in.. do you think i can test this if i had a battery from a nitro buggy and do i have to cut the red wire from my esc to test it or can i leave it... i know mine doesnt do it but i run a different servo and a sidewinder
