Default sidewinder sct faster 70% reverse than 100% foward

Got the sidewinder sct esc and it goes faster in reverse at 70% than foward at 100% not sure what to do. Would switching the wires do anything? I got the esc motor combo 3800 motor 4pole brushless. The wires came already attached to the esc and motor all you have to do is plug them together by color so I know I didn't plug the wrong wires together. But if I switching the wires would work which ones do I switch, red, black, white?

to reverse you switch black and red. then you will need to switch your reciever as well.

So when I switch the wires will foward be in 100% or 70%? Right now I got foward at 100 and reverse at 70.

Did you calibrate the ESC to the RX?
If so, were the throttle EPA's @ 100% and throttle trim @ "0"?
Is there any timing in the motor? It's possible it has timing but your rig requires a reverse motor rotation, thus "forward" is retarded timing while "reverse" is advanced timing.

I did calibrated the rx to the esc when I bought it I did the hold full throttle and hold full reverse. And the instructions said I had to put one of the switches on reverse on the remote which I did. All the trims and settings were set to 0 when I set it up. What is throttle epa? I didn't do any timing advance.

EPA = End Point Adjustment.

I didn't say you put in timing advance, it may have had it from the factory.

Do I need to recalibrate with the epa at 100%? I have I high and low knob, do I turn both to 100%?

switch the wires, and there should be a switch on your futuba to switch the throttle direction. then do a recalibration. that should fix your trouble. im guessing your motor is setup for a reverse rotation, so in escence your reverse is its forward.

any Q's PM me id be happy to help.

i had the same trouble on my sidewinder for my 2wd slash.

I am with Charlie, I bet your motor has advanced timing for the wrong direction. What motor are your running?

Also, put reverse at 100% and see what happens

Ummmm...that is what I stated as well as pretty much any ESC manual.

Throttle trim to "0" (including throttle subtrims)
Throttle EPA's to 100%
Calibrate the ESC to the RX.
Adjust from there.

Please spend all of 5 minutes reading any documents on your system. If you don't have them, look online for them. Do NOT trust some unknown person on a forum, do your own research.

If the manual does not make sense, then ask questions.

1-Glad it's fixed.
2-Glad you're happy.
3-While we may have seemed to be a PITA (well, at least maybe I seemed to be), aren't you glad you tried what we suggested??
4-Thanks for following up so it may help the next guy (if they search before posting.....)
