Default Older Mamba Max issue....only red LED

OK, rig is:
2.2 Bully
Dual MM's
3S 1350 LiPO
CC 10A BEC direct to the servo
WantAmix
Futaba 3PM-x

Ran the rig a few weeks ago, no issues, put it away.
Went to a comp (some of my wiring had been "neatened" by my son using ty-wraps) without checking the rig.
When I powered it up, neither ESC worked. Found a wire in one ESC to RX connector was pushed back not allowing power. Pushed the wire back in rechecked and I had 1 ESC working.
Tried a bunch of things and gave up, DNSing the comp

At home, removed the WantAmix, plugged each ESC into the RX one at a time.
One will power up, arm & work.
The other will power up, not normally though.
Checked the programming in both using a Castle Link, everything is exactly the same between the 2 ESC's (firmwares, settings, curves, etc).
When I use the throttle on the TX with the bad ESC, I get no light on forward or neutral, I do get a correct red at part & full reverse. Motor won't run.

I'm assuming I need to send it into the ESC Doctor, just looking to see if I missed something.

Is the red light flashing? If so, you arent getting a signal from the Tx. Maybe he pulled the signal wire from the circuit board....

Nope, not flashing unless I am part throttle in reverse (which is correct).

The wire neatening job may just be coincidence.
My testing has proved the TX & RX work.

BTW, I believe it's a flashing yellow with no radio signal.

Did you try recalibrating the esc to the radio ?

Yes, I tried, but I don't get the yellow or green LED's. I went through the motions but no change in operation.

Check your receiver wires going into that ESC (at the board) I had a issue like that and I pulled the signal wire away from the board (broke it really) a quick solder and was back in buisiness.

Also, is it possible that the throttle trim was adjusted too far out of spec or that the throttle channel was reversed on the Tx?

I will double check, but I did a continuity check from the RX plug back to the ESC.

The 2nd MM ESC works fine on the RX (using the same RX port to test both ESC's), no reversed throttle in the ESC.

Hummm....might have just killed the ESC. I'd give Castle a call.......X125 is Thomas and he is their best tech, IMO.

Quick follow-up, I know what happened now.
With the bottom cover off, it appears that there was a bad solder joint on the bottom of the big board. The 3 wire RX cable was right over it and I'm guessing a "tit" of solder poked through the cable ground and let out the majic smoke. This is a loaded area since just past this spot is where the cable comes out of the case.
The ground has the insulation blown off and there is a black mark on the board itself.

So, now I need to get an RMA, pack it up and send it off. Good thing I have a pair of FX-R's I can put in for this weekends last comp of the season.
I wish I had checked before the last comp since I had to miss one and that is my season drop, now I have 2 "drops". Not that I'm in danger of placing in the top 3. When you always run against Turbofest, Dezmoon, RCRockin, etc. in the GSRCRC series, you HAVE to be good to place well. It's still fun though.
