| Servos????
Alright, im not new to the crawler or scaler scene but as far as servos go im as green as the grass in the spring! LOL!! I had a few questions about servos if someone could please help it would be greatly appreciated! I have 2 scale trucks both are scx10 based rigs with upgrades but one thing that i havent upgraded is the servos! I was wondering what servos to get and if a bec it needed for these rigs or not! Did i mention that they are both 2.2 rigs and one is running mud slingers and the other is running panther leopards and both are weighted in the front! I really need to get some pics of my rigs on here for everyone to see! But int he meantime any input would be greatly appreciated on this matter! Thanks for your time! |

In general, scalers can get away with close to 200in. oz servo's (+/-). Servo's in that size do not normally need an external BEC, just run them off the ESC. Once you get to ~300in. oz and up, you'll likely find you want an external BEC. I like HiTec servo's, but there are a number of less expensive options out there. |

Which servo to get depends on how much torque you want and, how much you want to spend. for 2.2 anything above 200oz will be good. Having a BEC is highly recommended as you can get the most torque out of your servo. |

Check ServoCity.com, they will provide sizes (get a standard sized servo, like a HiTec 7955 as a guide), output torque and prices. It's an idea on where to go from there.

For a servo, a decent one but still on a budget would be this one Savox SC-1256TG Standard Digital "High Torque" Titanium Gear Servo Savox has been a new entry into the market, and from the dig servo i have from them, and i ran one in a ax-10 for awhile, savox makes good servo's If your looking for a more reputable servo go with Hitec |

I personally like the 1268 savoxs. They run $80 at my local shop and they will ship them to you. 360oz at 7.4, so you will need a BEC but that's an easy add on. https://tammieshobbies.com/litecomme...bd1b92008006e0 These servos also have replacement gear sets at $30. I've only toasted one so far, buts that was in a Wraith with a Pro4 and 2.2 tires after 6 5000mah 4s battery cycles. I'm surprised it lasted that long considering ever Hitec servo hasnt. |
