| Radio vs high voltage line
I asking myself if I can use safely 2.4ghz radio under transport line. We use to run very high voltage here (735 kv is the rule) I wonder if I can use those unused space to build a track. Not just scale but probably a 1/8 buggy too so lost of signsl can be dangerous. Maybe dumb for some but consider I'm a newbie..... |

Other than the possible personal health aspects, I see no reason why not. I believe ALL power lines in NA are 60hz, thus not in conflict with a 2.4ghz radio. Yes, 2.4ghz is a multiple of 60hz, but I don't believe it's an issue, at least, not at the typical distances between you & a crawler. Interesting question though. |

One of the spots that the guys in Vancouver run at is right under a power line and, when I was up there, I had no troubles with my 2.4GHz system. |

Im pretty sure 2.4 doesn't have a problem with power lines.

I'm not sure what frequency the older wireless heart rate monitors used, the kind you use while training for running or cycling, but whenever I was under or near High Voltage Transmission lines the monitor would get interference. Mostly 345KV lines. However, I don't recall ever having any issues with RC gear near powerlines. |
