Mamba Pro and Tekin 13.5 issue
 

Hey all,

I'm 99% sure I have this hooked up properly but feeling a bit stupid right now...

I have this setup in my Wraith #2 that I set up for speed and bashing. I have the motor to ESC wired just like the book says, the sensor cable is properly connected and all seems to be working good...except for one little detail...

I have full speed in reverse and 50% speed in forward. I found in the programming where to select the reverse speed but not where to change the forward speed.

I have a Castle Link in a box somewhere in the shop, but I figured there would be somewhere in the manual programming to fix this issue.

I thought about trying to reverse two of the wires to the ESC but I read that would mess up the ability to run in Sensored mode.

As of right now I can't even get into the programming mode from the transmitter, can't get the 4 beeps, it only gives me 3.

Any ideas??

When you first hooked up the ESC and calibrated was reverse and forward switched? Also, do you know if you have your radio set to standard or reversed for the throttle? Is the ESC new or did you buy used?

Switching two of the wires will not affect the sensor part, just the forward and reverse. The sensor part is pretty simplistic. Also, did you setup the ESC via castle link or just run straight out of the box? There are several different modes for it, smart sense is really the one you want. It uses sensored for startup and sensorless after that. Sensored is most accurate at start up and sensorless is more accurate after the motor is spinning.

i havent ever use the mmp manual programming but in castle link u can adjust fwd speed but that doesnt sound like the problem. i comes set with 50% rev and 100% fwd so i think ur motor is running in rev. when u give it forward throttle with the trigger is the green or red light flashing? should be green otherwise rev you thr channel and recalibrate. you are correct about switching two wires and the senors not working, that only will work if in sensorless mode.

Try unhooking the sensor wire and check forward and reverse speeds.
Also you can only set power for forward and reverse, not speed.

with castle programming fwd/rev power is the same as fwd/rev speed

max fwd power and max rev power is your "Speed" settings so it is the same"thumbsup" if you want to change the "power" or "torque" that the motor puts out you would change the punch control and start power..
if either one of the Max powers is turned down less than 100% it will be slower in that direction.
also go to "basic" in castlelink and make sure motor direction is Normal, its already been covered but you cant swap wire position and run sensored.

But it cuts your accelleration down too, so related, not the same."thumbsup"
Similar to brake power, not brake speed.

if u go under the castle description of fwd/rev power it clearly says it limits the speed. and of course acceleration will decrease as the same throttle input for 50% power will be much different than at 100% since there is less top speed available.

And in the manual it clearly says power. Regardless that setting could be the culprit.
Rtr wraith's came set up for reverse rotation motors. So, the reverse in the esc will make the Wraith go forward. Flipping the ring gears in the axle will correct the direction for standard rotation motors.

I couldn't get it right with the manual programming so it made me find my Castle Link. Once I got into the programming it was easy to find the set up and now it works perfectly!!

I'm charging a couple of 4S packs now to see if this thing can handle that much power...love to experiment... :mrgreen:
