Can you not run a 3rd channel using the novak rooster crawler esc?
Reason ask is do not see a channel 3 plug on it.

Your TX & RX determine the # of channels, NOT the ESC.

Maybe I'm missing your question?

the answer is yes but the transmitter and receiver determines the number of channels.. it has nothing to do with the ESC. you have to program the esc with the type of battery your running, so turn on esc, push and hold button the light will blink once (to use if your running nicd batts) let go of button, turn off esc and turn back on and it should be good to go, if your running lipo do the same thing but make sure the light blinks twice, then let go turn off esc turn back on and it should be good to go.

got you thanks. But like on a castle I could plug my winch into the channel 3 slot on the esc. Don't see a slot for it on the novak. Maybe im still missing something.

there is no slot on the novak. if you want to run a winch, you have to plug a winch controller to the receiver in the AUX port and either run a 2nd battery or find out a way to use the same battery source as the truck (like Heyok's winch controllers) and then plug the controller into the winch. what radio are you running?? on my dx3e i have a 3 position switch on the top and a AUX switch on the end so i set the switch to 3p and i can run my winch from the radio.

im running the same esc as you and this is what i have to do to run my winch. unfortunately if your running the rooster esc it has to go through the receiver.

there are a couple ways to go about winch controllers. what kind of winch are you running?
