Default Hobbico costumer service.......

Wow.... I sent in a cs-170 for repair because it was going wacko..... and they sent me a repair estimate for $70.00 for a new servo.... hell if I wanted to spend that I would have saved the trouble and just bought a brand new one for $90....

they quoted me:

$139.99 for new servo (almost double retail )
+
$9.99 for shipping (for a lil ole' servo?)
-
$ 70.00 (discount).....
=
$79.99..... so like a $10 discount..... fuk that...... azzholes

Well that sucks.... I have an SV2 sent off as well, but I haven't heard back on it....

Thats pretty shitty if you ask me.... theres no way it costs near that kind of money to build a servo....

I would be happy with $30, 40 or maybe even $50.... but $70, hell I can almost get a new one for that price and not have dealt with taking the time to ship it... and whatnot

Note to self: don't buy from hobbico......

I'm sure I'll get flamed from someone, but it pisses me off that they try and get money from you twice....

the mark up on RC shit is ridiculous.... and they know, people will pay it...

Castle will replace an out of warranty Mamba Monster for 70 bucks. That's a pretty good deal seeing as a new one is twice that.

That's good for the relitively ly few Mamba's that die, but for all the SV2's and SCT ESC's they want $40+shipping.

A new one is only $50 shipped off of Ebay.

Note to anyone intending to use a SV2 with a brushed motor, save yourself money in the long run and get a Holmes Hobbies BRXL.

While I have an SCT esc going strong with its maching 38000 4 pole brushless motor, I've killed three SV2's with lower power (35-55 turn) brushed motors in less than six months.
