Default ? about running 2 batteries

right now I have a 8000 3 cell battery in my rig
I'm wondering about adding another battery. I don't have room for another 8000 but could I join in say a 5000 3cell.
that way I would have a 13000 3cell. will it drain the 5000 first and to far before it drains the 8000 or would it drain them evenly?

any help would he great
thanks

You'd be much better off just carrying a spare battery in your pocket and swapping it out. 8000, even 5000mah is a lot of extra weight in a rig. Hell I know that myself with a scaler 90% of the time my attention runs out before 8000mah could.

This summer we ran our wraiths on a 2.5 mile long trail, each wraith only burned about 2200mah.

I agree my problem due to it design it will be very difficult to remove the battery once it's in there
my hope is to leave it in there to charge it and to run it.

Yeah, 13000 mAh is a lot of capacity and a lot of extra weight. Since these LiPo's will be hooked up in parallel, they'll both drain evenly. It's advisable to match the C ratings on both to get maximum service out of them.

You have the 8000mah in there, that'll get you quite a while of runtime just by itself. After 8000mah it's probably wise to let the rig rest for a bit anyways while the battery charges.

this is true.
i haven't run it with just this battery yet, i was maybe getting ahead of my self.
i will run with just the 8000 for now and than see if i really need a second battery. but its good to know that it is an option if needed.

thanks for you guys input.

1300 runs me almost 2 hours...think I would give up if I had a 8000 in it.

+1......plenty of runtime as it is. Give your ESC & motor a chance to cool off.
As to adding a pack, it would be preferred to run 2 packs of the same mah & "C", different capacities (mah) means you need to get a bit wizzy with the "C" rating so the 2 packs drain at similar rates.
If they are mismatched, you will drain one down faster than the other, very likely below a safe lower voltage limit due to many factors.
I just see this as a bad way to go.
