Default AE2 ESC issue

Searched but only could find something related but didn't help.

I was driving my SCX10 tonight when I accidently ran over one of the ties holding down an inflatable snow man in my yard. It got caught in the tire and wrapped around the axle and at the time, I didn't know it so I kept going forward and reverse until it eventually cut the throttle to the truck. So I went out and got it and it was making a tapping sound and I had no throttle. So I brought it inside and the ESC was flashing green and red and the tapping was the motor trying to turn and you could see it trying.

I un-plugged the batt, re-plugged, same thing. Kept doing this while also turning the ESC on and off. Nothing. Best I could find was the green and red flashing means over temp. Did I fry it or do I just have to let it sit?

Thanks in advance.

im not a real expert on electronics but the best i can do is give my opinnion but try the following
1. unplug the esc from the motor and see if you can spin the motor by hand
2. make sure the esc is set for the correct battery type
3. check and see if any parts are broke on the truck

again im not an expert on this stuff

We're assuming you tried the rig a day later (after it cooled down) and you still get the same thing?
Did you get the ESC wet?
Did you try recalibrating the ESC to the RX?
Did you try another motor?

The easiest way to figure out what part is actually malfunctioning is to start replacing the parts with spares you have 1 at a time (process of elimination.) if you don't have extra parts to do that I would take all your electronics out of the truck (to eliminate the rest of the truck). Unplug your motor and see if your esc then acts normal (eliminating the motor) then try recalibrating the esc to your radio and check all the other settings in the esc. If it is still acting up your esc is probably bad. I'm no expert but that is what I would try

Yup I let the truck air out over night and still doing it with rapidly flashing green and red LEDs. I will try all that stuff thanks guys. Does Axial have a warranty on this stuff?

And no, it was waterproofed, the wheel got tangled in the chord and then I tried hitting the gas and that's when it started acting up.

Swap the steering servo with the ESC on the RX. The TX steering wheel should now run the ESC and the trigger will work the steering.
See if things work or if the issue follows the part. That will help rule out the TX & RX.

sounds like the motor. have you taken the motor apart and inspected it? i did something similar with my XR10 and when i looked at the motor, the armature was unwinding.

A dead motor should NOT tell the ESC it has a temp issue. The temp sensor is in the ESC.
