Default traxxas 2075

my dad just bought a traxxas 2075 servo and his first run out it lasted 20 minutes then it completely stopped working in his scx10. one of my scaling buddies has had one in his scx10 for about 6 months and is still working great. what gives and can it be fixed?

they pretty much kinda weak, all plastic gears, about 100+oz of torque and not that great for crawlers . you could rebuild it or you could get a better/ stronger servo. the only thing good about it is that its waterproof, but you can do that to any servo

its hard to say if it can easily be fixed, all depends what broke. if its a gear thats easy, but if just quit working all together, it is likely needing a new board or motor and that isnt hard if you had another servo to rob parts from but i would just get something better.

I have had a 2075 in my trail truck for quite some time. Probably 2 years actually. I have stripped out 1 set of gears. But this is in a trail truck, it will not last in a crawler. That's not it's intended purpose.

Are you sure it's the servo and the receiver?

I use the plastic steering link, it takes away the stress from the servo.

mine works great as long as Im not on the rocks, Ive only stripped gears onces but I maxed out the radio and was pretty rough on it, But I also had the one that came in my stock 4x4 vlx stampede go bad with in the first 30 minutes, never worked again. Ive had three of them since and all are still in good shape and working

I blew the gears out in mine the other day. I guess I'll be hitting up the LHS for a new gear set or grab a new metal geared servo.

If you call up traxxas, tell them it's stripped, they will send you a rebuild kit free of charge. I went threw 3 rebuilds till I got a metal geared.

when you take it apart there are 3 wires going to the potentiometer and 2 for the motor. to reverse its direction you swap the motor wires and the 2 outside wires for the potentiometer

I seen that at glen echo, your steering links twisted under that toyota

by the way, it must have been just the cold weather or something because now it works again, the company he bought it from is sending him a new one just in case.
