| Spektrum Receiver too Small
I'm finishing an XR-10 build and am now facing the wiring of all the electrics. I need to use all four 3-pin ports on the Spektrum receiver. However, the four different black plastic plugs that must fit into the receiver DON"T all fit!! Each is thousandths of an inch too big(or the dang receiver is too small). I can imagine a single, big plug, with pigtails(12 of 'em), that plugs into the whole pin area of the receiver. A company could design/build the correct size plug, it would always fit, and the driver could get easy, flexible access to the receiver. Does such a plug exist? Do people "grind" the black plastic plugs down to get them to fit?(aarrrggghhhhh) Bob |

If the plugs you are trying to insert have a thin ridge on one side of the plug it can be trimmed off with an xacto knife.

I wouldnt grind them but you can and I have filed them by hand. Depending on the RX sometimes if you start with the middle plugs and then work your way out to the ends you can get them all to fit. |

I would think it would just be easier to pop the receiver out of it's case, then take a razor blade or exacto knife and enlarge the opening where the 3-pin plugs go just a little on each side instead of having to modify the plus themselves

| Re: Spektrum Receiver too Small exactly what he said.. there's a little lip on one side of plug, trim it off with a knife or file it down and they will fit.. had to do this to all my plugs. |

i always just cut the little ridge off with a pair of wire cutters, carefully. it works great. then you just have to remember that the lightest color servo wire is on the side closest to the center of the receiver.
