Is it any difference between the Hitec 7955TG V2 from the older one or just new packaging ? Thanks Joe |

Absolutely no clue, did you look on the HiTec site? I have a 7955 that is almost a year old. |

Yea, the site just shows the V1, no mention of a V2

A Google search didn't show anything either. It does talk about "G2", but that is the change from the 5955 to the 7955. Shrug.... Where did you see a reference to a 7955 V2?? |

Ebay, It said newest packaging and specs. It all looks the same, specs and all. Just don't want to buy and then find it'd better. Thanks for the replies |

Dont quote me on this, but I bought the Generation 2 sample for my foff build not long ago and recall reading that the G2 can be programmed with their digital servo programmers and the V1/G1 either could not(?), or that the G2 just had many more program options. Something along those lines anyway.... |

| Re: Hitec 7955TG V2 ? HS-7955TG - Hitec RCD Ok, the new G2 board has twice the resolution of the G1/V1, and programmable overload protection, so I was in the ball park... Hope that helps. |

That's the V1 with the updated G2 board, they have been around for awhile. I'm thinking the V2 is just new packing. Here it is: Hitec HS-7955TG V2 Digital Coreless Digital Servo NEW PACKAGE NEW RELEASE | eBay |

It is my belief that what they are calling the V2 is in fact the G2. (version 2/generation 2) Putting the new board in the old servo is what makes it a V2/G2 Thats the packaging my G2 came in as a matter of fact. I bought my servo back around July of this year. Consider this, they wrote: "Updated retail package = most updated spec!" I mean come on!!! thats total BS. They are using words like NEW, UPDATED, V2 and LATEST VERSION to try and push a sale. Who knows how long ago they wrote that description? Like I said, got mine some six months ago from Tower hobbies and thats the exact packaging it came in. And if Hitec updated the servo again, dont ya think it would be a point they would make easy to find on their site to boost their own brand/sale potential? From what I can see, it's no different than what we buy, it may be a Hong Kong packaging, nothing new. The 5955 was the V1, basically the update to the 7955 was the different board (aka G2). From what I can see....... |

just curious, do the 5955's have the motor leads soldered directly to the board like the 7955's?

Besides, doing a plug inside a servo is tough. Why do you ask?? Thinking of reversing a servo?? Last edited by Charlie-III; 12-25-2011 at 07:57 PM. Reason: Fix typo | |

While this is up: does anyone have the part number for a gearset for the 7955? And can anyone tell me if the gears included in Hitec part #55326, which is intended for Hitec HS-7940/7945/7950TH will replace the smallest gear in a 7954SH? I have two 7954's with stripped gears that appears to be the same gear included in the afformentioned part number, so I'd hate to spend $80 on two gearsets when all the need is the smaller gear. |

| Re: Hitec 7955TG V2 ? i was just curious if the 5955's had the 'old school' board design that connects the motor to the board with wires. theyd be a much more newbie friendly high power winch servo to modify with a heyok no creep. ive modded a couple 7955's with the heyok no creeps. its not difficult if you have desolder braid or a bulb to get the board removed since the motor leads connect directly to it. |
