Default Rooster Crawler ESC Programming

Hello. My son and I just switched to Lipos, and we have been trying to get the ESC (a Novak Rooster Crawler) to work properly with it. We followed all of the steps shown below, but when we try to set it to either Profile 3 or 4 (we need 3), which works with Lipo cutoff, the LED's only blink once or twice, where the directions say that they will blink for the number of the profile that they are on. (ie. Profile 1 = 1 blink, Profile 2 = 2 blinks, etc.) Any ideas or help would be much appreciated, or is our ESC just bad and will now only work with NiMh batteries? Thanks. And Merry Christmas!

The rooster CRAWLER edition has only two profiles.
You need to use profile 2 with lipo's

Hang on a sec and ill try to find the correct manual,
and the additional instructions for the crawler version....

This is the base Rooster manual:

This is the Rooster CRAWLER amendum,
as you can see, it has only 2 profiles.

I think this is the latest version of the instructions....

Click on the Rooster-Crawler ESC instructions at the top left-side bar of the page.

Rooster Crawler ESC

It sort of combines the older versions of the instructions and the additons.

Hope this helps you.

UMM, NO!!!

Thats the OLD 12T pre CRAWLER VERSION.
Before Novak twisted the software,
and added the programming for the CRAWLER
version of the Rooster.

Did it ever hit you, M1tch,
if you read everything in this thread,
and I can tell you did not,
that Baja4's ESC only blinks twice?
AS IN THE NEW CRAWLER VERSION,
WITH ONLY 2 PROFILES?!

Go back and follow my links, PLEASE!

You just might avoid the magic smoke yourself...

WTF/FTW

Thank you to all for all of the responses! From what this shows:

Rooster Crawler ESC

Profile #2 is the Lipo Cutoff, and makes sense since we could only get the ESC to flash either once or twice, so that is good and we now have that set correctly! But just curious, according to this picture:

http://www.teamnovak.com/password/no...rra_1200px.jpg

(it is the same one as we have, only the ESC, NOT the motor) it shows that it somehow has 4 Profiles, or are we miss interpreting what it means? Thanks!

The Rooster Crawler looks/is the same as the Rooster 12T.
It just has different programming for crawling,
and a different CRAWLER sticker so people know.

You were just looking at the instructions for the 12T
model. That one does have 4 profiles.

The CRAWLER EDITION only has the two.

Sounds like you have it figured out now,
so stop sweating the "is it tan, or light brown" thing,
and go run that puppy!!!!

Oh, and ignore the 1234 profile sticker......
as I see why your confused by it now.

Just look over the instructions I sent you last.
