Default BR-XL or Tekin FXR?

Cant get a reply from Holmes on eta for more esc's so im debating going with a different esc so the brxl has a good bec and can be waterproofed(which I liked) is that the main differences over other esc's like a tekin or sidewinder? Would a sidewinder be just as good with a bec and give it the corrosion x treatment?
Just got a new wraith and dont want to be sitting and waiting for weeks to run it!
Thanks

if you are running 2s or 3s any of the esc's you mentioned would be a good choice with a bec the brxl's claim to fame is that you dont have to run a bec & you can run 6s but if you run 6s there are few motors that can handle it

the tekin fxr is great and you can waterproof any electronics really, so that shouldnt make of break your decision.

Had two tekin fxr's and never could get the drag brake I wanted. I have gone castle and will never look back for crawlers. That is unless I can get my hands on a holmes esc some day. Castle link is much more user friendly if you ask me than the tekin setup and programability is broader with the castle stuff. Takin is smaller though.

I have to agree with the above. I went from dual Mamba Max's to dual FX-R's. I did the change because of an issue with one of the MM's.

As mentioned, it was great to do settings (include throttle & brake curves) in one MM, save them, then load them into the 2nd MM.
The MM brakes/drag brake was also better.

I will admit that the FX-R's are easier to put in my 2.2 Bully though.

Both are good ESC's, they each have their pluses & minuses.

As to the BR-XL, I've heard great stuff about them, but have not had the pleasure to try one...yet.

I think you will like it, but like I stated before, I've never run a BR-XL. I'm only going by what others have stated.

The BRXL is an AWESOME speedo. I've ran them for a while and have never had any issues. The BRXL is compatible with the Castle Link and is easy to program. Castle products along with the BRXL are known for their incredible drag break and their slow speed resolution. Combine a Holmes Crawlmaster and a BRXL and you will have the ultimate low speed smoothness combined with all the power and speed you could want.

The BRXL is worth the wait.

That killer BEC, 6s lipo capable and waterproof are my reasons for wanting the HH BRXL!

I have to agree the HH br-xl is the one to get, works well with the castle link, loads of options to set it up. They come waterproof on request.

I have had mine over 7 months i think i wont look at any other as br-xl is more future proof if you plan on changing crawlers to TT or mud pluggers.

Im running 45t expert HH motor on the br-xl and a 3 cell lipo 11.1v. Has some really smooth slow action and also plenty wheel speed. Debating running 2x 3cell lipos but im wondering if i push the cells the motor wont be able to take it, 22v is alot of V's and im wondering if anyone has done this. Would really be nice to have the extra power when its really needed to gun it in and out of sticky stuff. Anyone recommend a motor for big V's
steve

I went with the HH BR-XL myself...You can get the BR-XL already water proofed as well from HH..but you lose some warranty time with them.

I got 2 dual fx-r setups and am very pleased with them on my super and xr10. My scalers get br-xl or mmp (depending if it's brushed or brushless).

I'd say br-xl!

Hey old threads, this is fun when people search

Only dealbreaker for me of running either one of these esc's is real estate, if there's room I'd go with a wp brxl and if there's not much room an fxr. Although admittedly the fxr requires a little more work to get it in the same condition as wp brxl... waterproofing and that damn cap.

Both require a bec imo
