Default motor options

hey guys I have a friend with a modded axial crawler, and I picked up a mostly stock losi night crawler. I niticed he has a motor thats a lot faster and has a mot more torque. also he seems to be able to crawl his slower.

what are some good motor options that I can bolt into my NC? also is there anytthing else I need to do when I swap in a motor?

Yeah, I would not follow anything regarding the wraith for a motor for a Losi. Two very different trucks, that are both VERY hard on motors.

You will never be able to get the Losi to have the speed the Axial does. The Losi is more of a slow precision crawler. You can get a Novak or similar system that will get you up there in speed but you will need good batteries. And the runtime will not be nearly as good compared to the Axial.

ok, good to know, more than anything I feel like mine is a bit under powered tho, I would love more torque and a bit more top end, doesnt have to be super fast, just a bit more.

The Novak 3S Ballistic brushless crawler system is probably your best bet for your losi. It will be still on the slow side no matter what motor you put in it. Brushless is your best choice for that truck and you will still have good drag brake because of the worm gears.

according to the website it says 5.5t, and is there anything I need to get with the motor, or is it just a strait swap?

Hi ben, you know I’m running my LNC with a Novak system and it performs very well for me now, it has good torque, good wheel speed with 20T pinion, good low speed to crawl and I run a 3S 1300mAh Turnigy lipo pack which helps a lot too to get this whole combo doing what I want. If I run it at middle throttle I get aprox 25 minutes of running time and if I go full trothle time goes down 10/15 minutes.
With the 55t brushed stock motor, yes it was too slow, then I was to the Titan 21t motor and it got a little better, but I could get my Novak brushless system at eBay at a reasonable price, I know it’s a hi bucks stuff but if you search you’ll get one similar.
Mine is the Novak The Goat 3S 18.5T and was working for a long year without any problem.
Hope helps you!!!
