rc4wd xr4 4 channel radio how good is it

im looking to get a 3 or 4 chhannel radio for my crawler and was wondering how good the rc4wd xr4 radio is?

not worth it. you can get a hacked gt3b with up to 8ch and lots of other stuff. so definetly dont get it. haha hope this helped!!

support n/a...if you don't count LosiKid

At first glance you would think it would be a good option but it lacks important features.

It isnt very adjustable, at first it would be fine and then you would want a feature just to figure out that you dont have that feature. It doesnt have EPA (end point adjustment) on either the 3rd or 4th channel making those channels useless for dig, rear stearing, or just about anything other than turning on lights.

For less money you can get a GT3B, then you can get a hack for it from LosiKid (a vendor here) and for about the same price hacked you get a radio with all the features you will ever need. The great thing about a hacked GT3b is that you are able to flash it when new firmware becomes availible unlike most of the radios on the market including radios from the "big brands".

Also the GT3B offeres up to 8ch hacked (awesome for scalers...you wont run out of channels) and receivers are under $10.

What more do you need?

i got this setup a year ago, worked great the first few times and put it away to start on a new project. fast forward a year (today) doone with project and the darn thing aint working right! only channel that works is ch1. 2,3,4...nada. currently trying to figure out whats going on with it, i might just go ahead and pick up a gt3b..when i have the money.

IMHO wouldn't touch any rc4wd kit.

Expensive garbage.

The words, "reverse engineered tat" come to mind.


I have run many models over the years, I don't know that much about the finer details of things but I know rubbish when I get my hands on it, and that's what rc4wd is - rubbish.

Don't get me wrong, I HATE plasticy garbage, hence buying rc4wd.

No good if you need to spend 500 UK pounds on it to get some reliablity.

So, no - I'd listen to these guys and buy a GT3b.

how can they sell the GT3B for that price? That is very cheap. It has to be a china based company/product for that price right? How is Hitec or any company going to compete at that price? Wow.

Hacking it adds a bunch of features to it, unhacked just has whatever the box says it does.
