| DX3R and Punk RC Dig
I just got my Punk RC dig hooked up and was all excited to use it, but now i'm confused and don't know how to make my DX3R control my Punk Dig... At first it would only work on rear wheel drive no matter what i pressed, then after disconnecting the battery(and i can't remember what i moved) it started working on 4wd but i still can't work the 3rd channel(it doesn't respond) i changed the frame rate from 5.5 to 11 and i don't think it made a difference...??? Any one had similar problems or have the same set up but with everything working??? |

A good place to start would be to plug a servo into CH3 on your receiver. When you are able to use the remote to make the servo move to full left, center and full right, it should work fine on your dig controller. Using a servo to set things up makes it easy to see what your radio adjustments are doing. Make sense? Good luck!

Yeah that sounds like a good idea.. I had it hooked up to shift my LST2 into reverse, i would put it on 3 position so i can have the transmission on Neutral & rev it ... Thanks for the idea Heyok.

make sure it's plugged into the right port on the rx ( I use the aux port) and in the that it's in correctly (signal, +, -) then on your 3r make sure you set the desired dig button to 3 channel. On mine I use E (lowest 3 position thumb switch) for dig, and I also use F (the 2 position only switch) for front dig/ 4wd only. Try that out and it should work.

So, I'm having ths same issue with my traxxas link 2.4ghz 4 channel. I can only get the servo to go right and left with the toggle switch which I thought was suppose to be a 3 position.

the 11ms is about how often the servo signal is updated. Some high end radios can send the signal faster than that and it relates to how fast you can accurately position the throttle and steering. Good for racers - doesn't apply so much to crawlers. Have you plugged a servo into the channel that you would be using for dig? Do that and make sure that the transmitter can send it to three positions: Left, Center and Right. If it will only swing to to positions, the Punk dig won't work for you as it is looking for three positions. You can test that by temporarily plugging the Punk into the steering channel and you should be able to get it to go into all the modes. I make an alternative to the Punk dig that will work on a two position channel. I also make one for a three position channel. I'm sure one of these would get you going. I did check the controller by plugging in a servo. It is only has 2 "positions". I sent you a pm about your device.

As to the Heyok units, I haven't used one, but they seem to work well and he supports them as well. I use a WantAmix from Losikid that works well on my Futaba 3PM-x. Either way works better than a dig unit. | |

Thanks for the compliment Charlie-III. It took alot of effort. and late nights. I ended up resolving this issue using my existing controller and moving some wires to make a 3 position switch. I will do a write on it once I get it on paper. So now I can go from AWD to FWD to RWD with one channel. It was fun. Those controllers are really pretty simple. Thanks again! |
