Default Duel mamba micros doing odd things on 4s

I need a little help here. I am running a berg with duel mamba micro's. They are wired in series in essence. I just bought some 4s batteries from Brood (and they got here already set with deans in 2 days). I went to plug in a pack and set my rig on the ground. the rear esc did not appear to be on at first and eventually kicked in and ran just fine after about 2 hard taps of the trottle. The chiming did not appear to be delayed or out of sync with the front. Anyway any ideas of if I have something wrong or not? I am trying to make sure and prevent the white smoke fairy from coming around!

Well they only support up to 3s so first thing i'd do is hook up a 2 or 3s battery and see if they have the same behavior or if they start to work properly.

I had been running 3s without having these issues. I did also do my homework regarding running 4s on micros and although the specs say it goes up to 3s, the manual says it will go to 4s. On top of that a great number of guys here have been winning big comps running 4s on duel micro, and sidewinders. Anyway I see myself headed for a electronic rebuild soon.

The ESC's are wired in series or parallel??

Series would mean, the "+" of ESC-1 goes to battery "+", the "-" of ESC-1 goes to the "+" of ESC-2, the "-" of ESC-2 goes to battery "-".

Parallel would be the "+" of ESC-1 & ESC-2 go to battery "+" and the "-" of ESC-1 & ESC-2 go to battery "-".

So, which do you have??

Are both ESC's running the same firmware?
Are they both running the same throttle curves?
Are all other settings in each ESC the same?
Did you calibrate each ESC to the RX?

Are the 2 motors the same?
Are you running the same tooth count on the motor pinions?
What radio?

I did a bit of a shrink wrap smash job to the esc's and the battery leads go from esc one(front) to esc two (rear), which I think is in series. The motors are a matched pair of brood 35T's. The pinions are matching, and the esc profiles are exactly the same. I am running a futaba 4pl. This problem did not exist when running 3s and only started when jumping to 4s. In reading all your questions (which I appreciate) I have been through about every one of them long before now on other issues and everyone is the same.

I have the auto detect set on the lipo cutoff and have not touched my esc's for this change to 4s yet, not sure if I needed to. I also have not re-calibrated either. Wonder if either of these could be causing this delay?
