Default looking for brushed motor for 2s lipo

Well i tried brushless but it seems to delicate for outdoor use. So im looking to try brushed, but heres the thing. I only have 2s lipo and im not really able to go all out and get 3s. i have a traxxas speed control for now (i know not the best) and the rig is a scx10 dingo. I wanna be able to "crawl " when needed but i do also wanna speed around if i needed to. Im not to familiar with brushed motors so any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

I'm running a HH 35t handwound with 24/87 gearing right now on 2S in my SCX-10 and it works well. Goes decent for what it is but still crawls slow and has torque. I had to elongate the slots on the motorplate slightly to fit the 24t pinion on though. Another option is a 2 speed summit trans.

Yeah the handwounds have some decent torque. You could probably even go down to a 30turn or 25turn handwound and adjust the gearing to suit.

A 35t handwound should suffice then. Adjust the gearing to where you want it.

+1, a 35T is a decent starting point. Not too fast, not too slow, likely able to adjust speed with gearing.

A machine wound would likely be fine for now and a little cheaper. Try to get one that is rebuildable not "sealed". Look at the brush end of the motor, if you see stuff "sticking out" vs. fairly flat, it is likely rebuildable.
Like this.....

You are looking at $25-$45 for a motor.

Ive messed with brushed motors back in the day, but not to much...all i knew was lower the number the faster u go...i just dont know how they relate to crawlers cause of all the gear reduction and stuff..the 17.5 brushless i was using was kinda slow but i was able to add timing and turbo to it to make it faster...brushed motors im nt sure of yet..
