What's the best bang for the buck in radios? I want to go 3 channel so if I ever get a crawler with a dig I will be all set.

I have the GT3B and thought it was great, then I broke a rx "due to my fault" so I used a old JR FM radio I had laying around and used it out on the track for a day then got my new RX and it felt no where near as good as my old JR. The GT3B just didnt feel as responsive and smooth as my JR,I guess im describing some lag? Would this firmware fix this radio in that manner,or what exactly does the new software do for this radio? But even though I didn't like it much on the track,I still can't say anything bad about it,I mean a 2.4 radio with rx and a nice easy to use backlit screen for $35.00,You just can't beat it. Plus extra rx's are under $10.00. I think they would be good for a crawler, basher radio, but for racing I would look else where, unless this software fix does something for it? |

I'm a major Futaba fan (only own 1 non-Futaba radio, own multiple Futaba's starting in the late 70's, still own & use all of them.........) thus I'm biased. From reviews I have read on the Internet (and in this forum) it's hard to beat the functionality of a GT3B, even harder to beat is a LosiKid hacked GT3B. I have heard that they "feel cheap", then again, you can buy a hacked version for less (I believe) than a single RX for my Futaba 3PM-x! [sigh]. So, I have to think that a hacked GT3B sounds like a pretty good deal, even forgetting that it has twice the channels my 3PM-x has. Oh, and LosiKid appears to support the radio very well. |

+2. Just got it and I love it. But I don't have much to compare it to. I just don't like to spend a lot of money, and I feel I got alot of bang for my buck.

you can also hack most traxxas 2.4 tq3's to 5 channels and they can be had for about 30-40 with the receiver |

Does the flysky have a kind of ON(right)-OFF-ON(left), to use with the Punk dig, right out of the box? Or does it have to be hacked to do this? |

I love my Futaba 3pm-x. It is great quality for the price. I really feels high end and is amazingly precise. The only GT3B I have seen in action was causing the user's rig to have glitches every so often. Not saying they all do that, just noting what I have personally seen.

I feel like the Futaba 4PL is a great radio for the price. It's a 4 channel with a good deal of programing support, mixing for dual esc, mixing for 4 wheel steering and much more. I got mine on sale from CKRC for $190.

I have the Futaba 3pl and I love it. Its fast enough for short course work, precise enough for crawling. The RXs may be expensive, but they will stick with you when you step up to a 4PL down the line. Battery life is pretty good on it too. It also takes a fair beating, something id be nervous about with the FlySky.

| Re: Radios best bang for you buck. My gt3b rides in the bed of my truck all over the place. Slides around, gets to bouncing on the wash board or the un seen ditch or rock while out cruising the atv trials (90' std. cab toy pickup, fits the trails just perfect ). Its pretty durable....I've even accidentally left it on the roof of my truck and took off leaving it in on the trail (Intact)...Luckily i was just going to a new spot down the 10 minutes down the trail. I'm no means endorsing that everyone should mis treat their gt3b or any radio, but $35 ain't alot if it so happens does break due to an accident.

i drop the thing all the time, or knock it off the workbench. hasn't broke yet. i'm not as extreme as losikid. i did find an old pistol case sitting around the house, cut the foam out and there ya go, instant radio case.
