| switch setup for rear steer and winch servo Ok So I was curious if this would work for what I want. I want to keep power going to my rear steer servo while I use the winch and vice versa. So I was curious if i put a switch pictured above on the white wire and keep the power and ground attached directly to the separate servos that way they stay on and my rear steer stays put while using the winch. I hope what I'm saying makes sense. Please give me your input and help if you can. Thanks. Last edited by jthellfire911; 01-16-2012 at 08:24 PM. |

I've played with this sort of arrangement. It often works, but it depends on how the servo behaves when power is removed. If I recall, some will try and hold their last position, some go limp.

I was planning on possibly going through you for a controller for my servo winch. If this is a cheap way to go for now till I can get a 4ch radio I'll do it. Not like it will cost alot to do. LOL. | |

Make sure your failsafe posistion is set to straight ahead for the rear steer and nuetral for the winch. When you switch the signal off the servo should go into failsafe mode.

| Re: switch setup for rear steer and winch servo I always thought Failsafe was a feature of the receiver. Does that also apply to some servos?

That is actually where I was refering to. It is a feature on some rx/tx,not all radios have this. Even the ones that do, dont always have a failsafe on every channel. With a hitec servo programmer it can be done thru the servo also. Last edited by hotwheels000; 01-17-2012 at 03:10 PM. |
