| Re: Sensored MMP Stuttering Badly. Ideas? I just tried that. It did away with the stuttering for the most part, however, when the motor starts spinning, it spins way too fast. It doesn't have enough low speed. |

Did you try a smaller pinion? With a smaller pinion you can use the CHEAT mode to get the speed back.

They work fine together. See posts 28, 31, and 33, of this thread. (There is even a post in your link that states they work together.) So, did you try the new sensor yet? There is no point in trying to break something else until you replace the likely culprit.

I haven't tried a smaller pinion because I feel with the wheels/tire off the ground (and no load), it should have adequately low gearing to crawl. I've run this gearing setup before and I like it. But yes, the CHEAT mode certainly helps! It's on order and won't be here 'til Monday, unfortunately. Haven't decided if I'm going to run it in Saturday's comp or not. It's a pretty mild course, but like you said, I'm concerned about possibly damaging something.

Got a new sensor today and installed it. No change. I'm geared 14/60 right now, but may try a 12t pinion, though I don't think that should be necessary to get this right. I'm also skeptical it'll make enough of a difference. While everything was apart (to remove the motor) I once again verified everything in the drivetrain spins very freely. No issues there, but while on a very brief test run on the rocks in the backyard the motor started acting weird and got awfully warm. Maybe this motor is a POS. I'm nearly done with this setup. If I decide to keep my Wraith, I'll likely just get a Pro4 3300 and call it done. |

Is the sensor wire your using new? If not, they're only a few bucks, u could get a new one and rule out a bad sensor wire, just a suggestion though since I'm new to brushless set ups.

I am also running the MMP and a 18.5t Novak Crawler motor. I had the same issue due to a broken wire in the sensor harnes. Once I got that changes out its been game on. This ESC/Motor combo on 3s is perfect.

If it is a Novak Ballistic motor I would change the sensor on the motor. In the last year at our track the Nocak Ballistic motors are known for bad sensor boards.

Not really. IIRC, I got it to crawl okay with decent low speed resolution. But the main issue I then had was a sever lack of top speed. I could add boost, but it was only in reverse no matter how I maniuplated settings/software. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the Novak motor just doesn't get along with the Castle ESC. I still have the motor and may try it again someday.
