It'll either A)go really fast, or B)cog terribly when you want to go really slow.

You could use the esc, but have to pair it up with a brushed motor.

I have 2 of those ESC's and 2 of the V2's that are the same thing. They work very well for my in my SCX-10 based rigs. I would go on ebay and just pickup one of the esc's and then buy a brushed motor for it. If you look around you can pick a SCT ESC up for $35 or so, great deal.

They work fine, and with the Castle Link, you can make the motor behave how you want to. I use the motor and esc combo in my SCX10 puller. When I want to co crawling, I just reprogram the esc! Great all around esc, but if you want to use it for brushed, look into the Holmes Hobby esc. Amazing quality, but pricy.

I'm using the SCT combo, stock setup and it works great. I'm sure I could get it to run better if I got the Castle Link, but as a weekend basher, it does just fine. I'd recommend it

Duuuuuuuude, I'm not sure what your experience was with it, but I have enough speed to get up and over something, but I wouldn't say it's "really fast", and I don't have any cogging. I only wish it had more torque, but that's my only complaint really. Maybe you just have a heavy trigger finger

I have the Sidewinder SCT paired up with a 35t integy motor in my fastback II right now.
It works great other than the little delay I get when going in to reverse. Guess I am just too lazy to plug the castlelink back in and get rid of it. LOL

I have a slight delay as well. I would assume that's just a safety. It'd be like taking your fullsize vehicle, driving up to 88mph, then slamming it in reverse

Unless you mean after you stop there's a delay

All my rigs run either a Mamba Max or Sidewinder esc. I also have a handful of brushless motors of varying speeds at my disposal.

For serious crawling where you need smooth, slow (really slow) movement, brushless for the most part is a miserable thing. For bashing or trail riding, they're fine.

And yes, most of the time I do have a heavy trigger finger.
