| Crawling King motor help
I was needing some help. I own an hpi crawler king, and I was wanting to to some upgrading but I really don't want to break the bank. I was looking into a better motor, I think the 55t motor is great, but I was wanting something more. So is there a good motor that I can upgrade to without upgrading my esc? The esc is stock, and I don't know the spec to it. |

Hi, you can try a lot of different brushed motors. I would NOT go below a 35T (35 turn) motor, much below that can overload the ESC as well as being too fast for crawling. Low turn brushed motors are for going fast and are weak in torque. A 27T motor would likely be fine for your ESC, but not great for crawling. When you say "upgrade", what are you looking for? More speed, more torque for climbing, smoother motor for crawling? What battery are you running (NiCD, NiMH, LiPO.....what voltage or cell count)? |
