i took out my slash (i know its not a crawler) earlier and the battery got covered in mud. its a 3 cell lipo and the balancing plug has mud in it..... so my question is what is the best way to clean the mud out or should it be ok to go ahead and charge it anyway? |

Wash with water and something like an old toothbrush. Dry it off with a towel, charge it, repeat as needed. Do NOT scrub it hard, do not use cleaners, do not blow-dry it, etc. |

Afterwards, put it in a ziploc filled with raw/dry rice to get all the moisture out. OR Let the mud dry completely and just brush the batt off with a toothbrush. I do that with my rig. Don't see why it wouldn't work with a batt. |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Exactly my technique. I sometimes use baby wipes to clean the outside and cables. |
