| Motor suggestions?
Ok, I have future plans for a TLT basher that will probably end up seeing a lot of mud. Now, my question is should I go with a 55 turn and gear it to the moon to get wheel speed? With the idea being hella torque from the motor and a higher gear ratio for wheel speed. Or should I go with a 16-14 turn geared way low? The idea being use the motors RPM and the low gear for torque? I know the lathe and taller gears get tires moving pretty fast because pulling trucks use that combo. But, a low turn motor and a shorter gear gets racers moving pretty fast too. What do you guys think?

Go with a 35t lathe, then gear to your desire.

Exactly. With a mid-range motor, you'll get some decent torque and still have good wheel speed. And that way, you don't have to set your gearing to one extreme or another, giving you way more adjustability. Have you thought about stepping up a cell or two in your pack? An 8 cell pack can give you that little extra punch you may need. Just be sure that your ESC is rated for it.

I never thought about that happy medium! I'll probably run a 7 or 8 cell so that will definately help. What about the waterproof esc's? Can they handle 7+ cells?
