BEC Pro + BR-XL + 2x Servo Wiring Question.

Hey guys, I'm kind of new so please don't jump on me :) I tried to read through and find an answer but couldn't easily find anything definitive. I'm installing my rear steer and had a wiring question.

I know you're not supposed to connect the red wire from the ESC to the receiver when using the BEC pro (or external BEC). I assume this is because you don't want to connect the two separate regulator circuits even if they are set to the same output, because electronics don't like that.

I am going to be wiring the servos to be powered directly from the BEC Pro's two outputs and only having the signal wires connected to the receiver. Currently one BEC Pro lead is powering the receiver, and the other is powering the lone servo.

Given that the two voltage regulators (BEC Pro and BR-XL ESC's internal regulator) are not going to be powering any of the same things, and therefore on totally different circuits, can I leave the red wire from the ESC connector plugged into the receiver to power it since I no longer have an available BEC Pro output.

I hope that was clear. Thanks in advance.

Kurt

I think the key is to make sure there is only one power input to the reciever. It could come from the bec or the esc.

That was my feeling. Hope nothin' blows up, I still have to build the 4ws onto the thing, so i'll check back before I power it up.

Re: BEC Pro + BR-XL + 2x Servo Wiring Question.

I just completed something similar converting my wraith to 4WS.
Castle 10amp BEC, 2X servos, BR-XL. My front servo is running off the bec with only the signal wire going to the receiver and the rear servo is running off the internal BR-XL bec.
Your front servo does most of the work therefore it got the external bec. The internal bec in the BR-XL is more than able to handle the rear servo's duties.
