Default batttery problem can it be fixed?

my 3cell lipo read full charge in 2 cells but in the 3rd it gave me 0.0v. i tried charging it and it stops charging at 3.74v and 4.20 in the rest, is there any way to fix this or is the battery trash??

I made an adapter for charging individual cells through the ballance tap, its an "at your own risk" operation but one of my batterys was doing what yours was doing, I plugged my adapter into the low cell and charged at a really low rate on 1s and brought it up to full, ever since then it's been working as it should. pics in a sec of what I did.

now, please do this only if you are confident and prepared for anything, as there is usualy a reason a cell wont take a full charge, outside or in the garage would be an excelent idea, and plan to be there the whole time its charging incase SHTF. I store this lipo on its own in a lipo bag now. but like I said, works as it should now.

I made my adapter out of a JST plug, I just cut the square box that protects the prongs off. (exacto cut it off just fine, no saws needed)

and then check the cells and find the low one and plug it in (MAKE SURE POLARITY IS CORRECT)

set your charger to charge 1s lipos (I charged at half an amp)

(yes, thats a hobbyking "B-Grade" lipo and this was to be expected, but so far so good, got 3 of them they are awesome)

if you're going to throw it out send it to me haha.

with your volt meter
or you can look up how a balance plug is wired and you'll see what is + and what is - for each cell, but you're going to need a volt meter to locate the cell anyway.

(based on your responce this is something you should NOT try, seems your in over your head already, just being honest here)

just want to add.. again, I am not responsible if you try this and SHTF.

you will want to look up how a ballance plug is wired anyway. black is NOT a common ground like many people think.

if you do this be sure to let us know how it goes, but do it knowing how dangerous it can be, don't short the lipo with the volt meter prongs, good luck

here's a diagram, there are better ones out there too. (for a 4s but you should get the idea)

battery check...
low voltage

it wont even let it charge, so does that mean i have to replace that cell or am i missin something?

i have the battery pluged into the balancing ports that are for the low cell and in the correct +- oreintation, charger set at .1a and 1s and it wont charge, is that all corect?

sounds correct to me, the cell is reading 3.74v and its giving you a low voltage reading? odd, you have the adapter plugged into the main power output on the charger correct? and not into the ballance ports of the charger right.

like this (if you could take a picture of your setup it could be helpfull)

exactly like u have the only difference is the volt meter is reading 1.12v and falling it was 3.74 and now it is the 1.12v so i think that means shit is toast and the cell has to be replaced

i've never tried it but it still can be saved, some people have had them burn up, but more people have good luck then bad.

this is highly un-recomended by many members, I however would try it myself. I would do this outside away from any flamables.

Dead Lipo Battery Recovery - YouTube

in the end, how much was the lipo, and how much time/risk are you willing to put into it. keep us up to date regardless if you choose to try and save it.

once its fully charged up again check the voltage on all cells and just keep an eye on it over the next few cycles, maybe you'll luck out like I did and it'll work as normal again.
