Specific Lipo Question
 

new to lipos, charging using a vision peak plus charger. Usign a 1300 mah 2s 35c 7.2v lipo battery.

Set on 1amp it charged the battery that had previously activated the 6.25volt cutoff on my rooster crawler.

Charge time was:111.08min
Mah into the battery was: 1645mah
End volts:8.4

Forgive the noob question but shouldnt a 1300mah battery take no more than a 1300mah charge especially since the lipo cutoff stops the truck before the battery is 100% dead?

Did you happen to check the pack's voltage when it came out of the truck? 'Cause that's about a 1/2 hour more charge time than I would have thought it should take. But if the pack was that flat, I would have thought you would have seen a bunch of 'low voltage' error messages or whatnot.

Raising your cutoff voltage (if you can) might not be a bad idea, either. It'd just give you a little bit more of a safety margin in case one of your cells goes horribly awry. Plus, it'll take less time to charge, too.

Not sure i can raise the voltage cutoff on the rooster crawler. I got about 3.5 hrs of total run time out of the battery and still havent gotten it cut off on that charge. I have literally crawled every line on my indoor course and bored myself trying to kill the battery. I was just concerned about the 1600mah on a 1300mah battery.

A lipo pack may take more than it is rated for. They are not hard and fast numbers. I'm always happy when one of mine does that...it means that the pack manufacturer rated it lower than it actually is. Its like finding out your car can hold more fuel than advertised.

The easiest way to tell if a lipo pack is at its discharge rate when you're using it is to watch for a noticeable drop in power. Often times you can catch it before the lipo cutoff does.

That is a long damn time for a 1300 to last. I get about 45 minutes in my comp rig with a pack that size. Even less if I get throttle happy.

Well that is indoors on my really small course, which doesnt involve a lot of throttle at all to move around with the rear steer. Need to figure out a way to build bigger obstacles than i have but still make it fit indoors.
