Default ESC / new Tx Rx issues

I have an AX-10, with the stock ESC. I just installed a Spektrum DX3C Rx (with corresponding Tx). The light on the ESC is blinking green. When I pull the trigger, it still blinks green. When I push the trigger for reverse, the light blinks red. No matter whether I pull or push the trigger, the motor does not turn at all.

Any ideas? This is my first radio that is this technologically advanced, but I'm not sure if it's between the Rx/Tx and the ESC, the ESC itself, or if it's between the ESC and the motor. I did reroute some wires when I installed the new receiver.

Thanks

Does the ESC initiallize as it did before you made the switch?

Is your steering working properly?

Sounds like you may need to calibrate the ESC to the signal coming from the radio gear. What ESC is it the AE-2? I dont have any RTR crawlers so it is hard to say what the calibration procedure would be but if it does indeed have one it would probably be similar to Castle ESC's because Castle makes the Axial stuff.

Hold full throttle when you turn it on, it should enter calibration. It will start beeping, I cant remember the order but something like neutral full throttle and then reverse. Just hold them until it stops and starts beeping again.

Yeah the steering works fine. I think it is the AE-2. I couldn't see the writing on it though because it's all mounted down with servo tape and nestled in. I will gladly give what you said a try - thanks!

Thanks guys. Here is some additional information that was useful: Axial AE-2 ESC Set-up and Programming

I am now good to go! I did not know I can use the CastleLink with the AE-2 ESC - how exciting!! Something about plugging my RC car into my computer just really makes me feel great!

Yea it is very handy. The first time my GF saw me doing it she was sooo confused!

What ended up being the problem?

Dude that's funny I think the problem was that the ESC was hooked up to a new receiver (and transmitter) and hadn't been re-calibrated. Once I went through the calibration process described on the Axial website, it worked fine.
