I run my BEC at seven volts (7.0v), but then again I've also seen servo temps over 210°F. When I was trying to decide if I wanted to get a BEC, I put one of my 2S (500mAh) helicopter lipos in the receiver, and ran it that way for a pack or four. So I know it can take an unregulated Lipo (8.4v fully charged). My bushings have gotten horribly bagged out, to the point where I'd get the shakes when the steering centered, so I took out the bushings and put in 6x10mm bearings. Problem is, the bushings are 2.5mm wide, the bearings, 3mm, so the top of the case won't close all the way. But, it still steers just fine. Badmouth the 'stock' servo if you will, but I like the little bugger. Gots all the power I need, and has put up with everything I've put it through. That said, I do have a new Futaba HV servo on it's way here as we speak. |
