Default Mini pro esc

I think I just cooked my goose! Mongoose that is, its only a month old but its glitchy like a flat battery even with a brand new fully charged pack.
When it goes its good great low end and wheel speed.
Im thinking of changing out the esc with somthing that does brushed/brushless so I can change to brushed later on.
So far Ive been reading up on the mamaba mini and the sidewinder. These 2 sound good but will they run sensored on the brushless and will they have drag brake?
I already have a C link so I can program it.

Both are sensorless ESCs.

The only new thing is that the Sidewinder micro can now work with a brushed motor.

I'm using the Xcelorin ESC (Losi) and so far it has worked flawlessly about a year and many comps. It's too bad Losi is dropping the Mini Pro line of products.
