BEC fried my ESC? Hey I just bought an rtr Wraith a few weeks ago and the steering servo did not really function well with any form of pressure on it. I also wanted to hook my new ko-propo radio to it and later add my lipos. When I hooked up the radio the problem got worse. I was then told to purchase and CC BEC and wire it to the ESC with the deans end on it so I could hook up my lipos. I plugged everything in and the moment I go to hook the batt up and don't even have it fully connected i see a spark between the connectors, the ESC makes a popping noise and then I smell smoke. This is where I stopped messing with it. I followed the wiring diagram from the CC package to a T. The hobbytown guy soldering the BEC to the ESC for me. I even unhooked the ESC's middle wire like the CC packaging said. What did I do wrong and what should I change. I have a brushless motor and novak gtb2 but I do not want to fry that ESC. |
Re: BEC fried my ESC? Sounds like the polarity got reversed somewhere in the circuit or connected to the wrong terminal. |
Re: BEC fried my ESC? Sounds like the hobbytown guy possibly soldered your ESC wires onto the deans opposite polarity of your battery.. |
Re: BEC fried my ESC? you let the uneducated LHS solder for you and they screwed up |
Re: BEC fried my ESC? That's what I figured i just talked to the guy from my other hobbyshop accross town. I think that's what happened, he even burnt his hand in the process. O well i'll try doing the novak later myself properly. |
