Default Newbie help, BEC?

Ok guys, im in a jam. This truck is a little past me. Here is what i have.

SCX10 Hancho

Hobbywing 32t 35amp Esc
3racing Led kit (brake, roll bar lights, head lights, turn signals)
3racing winch with control from radio
3 channel Spektrum rx

Here is my plan
Run the winch on 450mah 7.2 v 2s lipo
3300 mah 11.1v 3s lipo on the rest

Am i going to burn anything up?
Do i need a BEC (which i have no idea what these are for, just see them used alot on the crawler applications)
If so, could you pleaes direct me to the one i need to buy from Hobbypartz.com
BEC/UBEC

Thanks in advance. Im having fun building thise thing so far... just need to get the Electrical figured out so i can start cutting and soildering to a clean routing of wires and get rid of the extra length of wire not needed.

Forget the extra 2s battery, that is just going to lead to problems later on. I would recommend using a Castle 10a BEC to power your rx, if you really want to run 7.4 to the winch then run a second BEC to it or just run it off receiver power.

A BEC like CC's allows you to set the voltage going into your receiver and components.

Most if not all ESCs have a BEC built in but those generally put out 5V at 3A or below. Not a lot when you are asking for lots of power to run the servo, motor/motors, etc. Then when you plug in a 3S the current output of the ESC's BEC drops to 2.2A or less. An extternal BEC continues to deliver current at it's stated rate (10A for the CC BEC) and at a higher voltage.

Thank you, it seems one Bec will do everything i need it to. Counting run the Winch also at a actual working rate. I dont plan on it just to be for looks ya know.
Also what Voltage would i want to input to the Rx if i want to run all of this. 6V or higher?

Set it to a voltage your servo can handle. What model servo you have for steering

Depends on what your receiver is rated for. Spektrums can deal with 7.4V very easily.

10A peak on the CC Bec not 5A like everyone keeps saying.

@12v (roughly 3s) output is 7A.

To the OP you will need to determine the best voltage for all of your componenets. Check the specs on all of your equipment including the lights, winch, servo, and receiver and make sure they would all be compatible to run above 6v...If you run anything too high you will risk frying it rather quickly.

Everything i have will run on 4.8v minimum. The servo im using is the Hitec MG 56..somthing. I plan on changing that once i get the truck rolling. I know this servo is "junk" in my eyes. One more thing, the SCX10 has some suspension travel issues due to the servo horn. I see some servo relocation kits that would work. but would like to know what you guys think as to which one i would be better off getting?
