| New guy with question....
I have been reading and searching the forums here at RC Crawler for awhile now. Lots of good info to be had, A big thanks to all who share here. I am still confused about receivers. I have a DX6i air radio for my plane, can I use it for crawling? I thought I read somewhere I could but now I can't find that info so I thought I would ask you guys . I hope its possible since it would save me some money. What do you say?

You wanting to use your air radio for crawling or just he receiver? Using the whole system it would work, but I don't know about mixing a surface transmitter with an air receiver. However, there is the FlySky GT3B which has been praised by many here, and is only 40-50 bucks with ~10 dollar receivers. 2.4Ghz and 3 channel.

I see no reason why it shouldn't work, though from what I've read, your neutral for the speed control may be half way up on the stick, so if you have a self-centering stick, when it goes back to center, it will be reversing the speed control. I'd personally just get a surface radio and be done with it without the possibility of any funkiness.

Yes it works I use the same tx and a ar6100 rx. I had the centre mod done on the left stick or u could use the right for throttle if you dont want to mod the left |

Yea you cant mix and match air and surface but using an air radio in a surface vehicle works perfectly. That radio also has all the necessary mixing function to properly run dual esc's and/or rear steering. |
