| VXL question I have a Traxxas VXL combo running with a 2075 Traxxas servo and a 2200 3s lipo in a FOFF rig. So far my kids and I have only run it around the backyard a bit with 2.2 Geolanders mounted up. It seems that every time I get it "bound" to where the truck has to exert some force to turn the wheels the esc begins to blink red and it seems to set the truck into some sort of training mode; power gets cut in half. Once I turn off the esc, disconnect, then reconnect the battery and power it back up it runs fine again. Anyone have any idea what's going on? |

This is the low voltage cutoff kicking in. It is meant to protect the battery from discharging below a certain amount. It may be that the lipo you are using just can't provide enough current when your truck gets bound up. The end result of not providing enough current is that the battery temporarily drops its voltage and the speed controller detects this and you get to the condition you are seeing.

If you're not running LiPo you should turn that feature off. I was running a 25c pack and it didn't have enough juice. I went to a 40c pack and it was able to keep up.

run it with lipo detect off and just check your lipo often with a portable meeter to avoid killing the lipo and not worry about not having enough power. just turn on the esc..light will be green...hold the on/off button till it changes to red....and your done/////reverse thoes steps to change it back |

Are you crawling to bind it up? Vxl sucks for any crawling, it cogs like crazy since its not sensored. I had vxl in many traxxas trucks that I bashed and ran the wheels off of but never used 2200 mah battery. Need to throw atleast 4000 mah at it with atleast 35c discharge rate. Being a foff truck, I can imagine you're Pounding the throttle in that beast. Best of luck, and have fun Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using Tapatalk |

I'll order up some larger batteries and see how that works out. Last edited by brianw; 02-15-2012 at 08:13 AM. | ||
