| Mamba max pro & BEC?
I am going to change my original question, because yes i need a BEC. My question is why do they bother to add an internal bec to this thing even though it is basically worthless? After some searching it looks like it is only about 1.5 amps, meaning even a basher is more than likely going to need to add an external BEC. thanks for slapping me around eeepee

Well for a basher ran on 2s it would probably be ok, its when you up the voltage that the amperage really comes down to the point that it is useless.

When I was running the MMP in my short course truck, the servo was quick but not much torque, and didn't pull much power. SO the Bec in th MMP worked just fine. When I went to a high torque in the 4x4 SC10, I needed the BEC, because the servo would get it hot and pull the system in to shut down. Would accually kill the receiver and then come back on.. Not good during a race.. |

That's the reason I like the 1cell version of that ESC...

Remember, this isn't a 'crawler only' ESC, lots more people than just you are using this thing for different vehicles. My AX-10 is the first vehicle in almost thirty years that I've added an external BEC to. Even my eMaxx runs dual steering servos just fine with it's internal BEC. So why would anyone outside of crawling need an external BEC? Most don't, and can make do with the onboard one just fine. | |

| Re: Mamba max pro & BEC? Wish I had known that they were the same minus the BEC. The one cell lable distracted me. Oh well no harm I bought a BEC at the same time just incase. So just a little solder and I am good to go. As far as working fine I beg to differ. If it cant run my servo, and 5 leds at the same time it is a fail. |
