Default Novak 45T's surge in reverse MOA

Hello I am looking for some clues to a issue I have with a XR10 and 2 Novak 45T motors.I had these in my Bettle Juice a year and a half ago and a similar issue.I was running a Tekin FXR Pro and a Punk dig.It would act up and cause the Tekin to loose programing ect.I ended up changing out the tekin for a Mamba max but I also installed 2 new Fantom 45T motors at the same time and all has worked perfect.I sent the Tekin in and they replaced it.So I then started building my daughter a new XR10 with the same Novak 45T's, the Tekin FXR pro and a Punk dig.Same issue I kept loosing programming on the Tekin so I pulled it and installed a Max Pro .Now I have a surge in the motors when in reverse.I unsoldered the frt and then rear mtr. They act the same seperate or together.I installed the Tekin FXR in my daughters SC10 and it works perfect.Does anyone know of any issues with the Novaks and a Punk dig maybe? Any help please

I suggest that anyone with questions about Novak products or installations, contact Charlie, csuangka@teamnovak.com.

He can help you trouble shoot your set-up.

I can tell you, its VERY unlikely, especially at this point since you swapped speedos that BOTH motors developed the SAME problem. I can count on one hand in the thousands of motors I've sold how many times two motors have developed the exact same problem........its just not really possible.

So, I would say the punk dig is more than likely the problem. I personally think these things are junk. I know some people have had lots of success with them, but I know TONS of people who have nothing but problems with them.....and then they get to deal with the WORST customer service to get the unit fixed/replaced/etc...

Bypass the dig.....if the problem goes away.......there ya go. If it stays, I would say there is a setting issue in the your ESC or Radio.....possibly needs to be recalibrated or throttle curves adjusted.

My suggestion, ditch the punk dig and go dual speedos...

I have to agree with Eddie on this one. The most probable cause of your issues (since the beginning) is the Punk Dig.

I will bypass the dig and give it a try. There have been 2 seperate punk digs though as the first one is still in the Bettle Juice with the MM and the Fantoms. I was wondering more about something that causes a issue with the mtrs more than a motor problem. It has also been 2 different radio's as my Daughter runs a 3PMX and I run a M11.The only common item but a different one, is the Punk besides the Motors.

I am not familiar with your ESC (never owned one). But if its only in reverse, I bet it has something to do with "braking" or "ABS", or some variable setting that is programmed into the esc they sent you to replace yours. Could easily be a similar setting on your radio. I had the same problem with my Gt3b when I set it up.

Good luck.
