Default Scaler in water no forward??

Hey guys was wondering if i could get pointed in the right direction. Im running a Traxxas XL5 water proof esc, some cheap water proof servo, Losi/spectrum 2.4 Rx/Tx and a traxxas titan motor.

I have the rx in a balloon and is staying dry also antenna is tucked in side balloon(could be my issue right there). But anyways truck seems to lose forward when its under water has steering no problem and reverse is there seems a little twitchier but still drivable. Not sure why its doing it.

Ive ran the truck with a tq3 before in water with out issue but i have changed motor, servo, rx/tx since ive last run it in water so not sure were to start.

once 2.4g radio systems get to a certain point under water they no longer send/recieve signal properly.

example- my old tq2 i could run my car at the bottom of my pool in the deep end

a guy in our local clubs 2.4g system lost signal when truck was maybe 4 inches deep out at a gtg a month or so ago

some 2.4s are fine others just dont work after going a certain depth under water

Ok thats pretty much what i was thinking, might have to go back to the am system since the knock off futabas are still out of stock, i dont want to risk a high dollar rx under water.
