Put it in a ballon or rubber.

Spektrum makes the smallest receivers, I believe. Definitely not the cheapest, but there's two really small ones that I know of.

MR3000 Marine 3 channel - 1.3" x .75" x .2"
SR3500 Surface 3 channel - 1.06" x .78" x .48"

Or, if you want cheap, there's the GT3B radio and Rx
RX is 1.4" x .86" x .53"

I don't think your decision should be influenced too much by the size of the Rx. Rather buy a decent system with a slightly bigger Rx than the smallest crappy thing.

Well, the smallest is Spektrum so, based on this statement, you're saying the Spektrum stuff is crap?
I can't agree.

But, the rest of the statement is valid.
To the OP, choose your radio system based on what you want to do with it. Some need 4 channels, so obviously a 3 channel system isn't gonna cut it.
You can always find a way to house the electronics. 1000's of other AX10 owners have found a way.

Another option for just about any radio system is to de-case the receiver and shrink wrap it.

You will create a smaller device overall and lose some weight while doing it.

If you really want a stick radio have you looked at the Spektrum DX5e or DX6i? The AR600 receiver they come with is small, but they make smaller if you want to spend the money.

If you want to try a cheap one, the Hobbyking stick radios use super small RX's as well.

For the smallest, you will definately want to de-case the RX. But I can't imagine that an AX10 doesn't have any room to spare for a normal RX.

Pics would help...

Not a stick radio but it was only 10 bucks plus shipping. The receiver is small I thought and it seems to work quite good.

Transmitter is only a 2 channel with just the basics but it works.
