Im not using a bec or a dig and im using a 3000 nimh battery. And info on what causes this or how to dix it would be helpful. Thanks everyone

Does your steering work while you wait?

Sounds like a loose connection or it's hitting the LVC. When you let it sit, the ESC comes back on as the battery voltage rises.

Maybe you need a better battery (higher "C" and/or mah).

Or, don't slam it into reverse from high speed forward.

Some one told me that the motor has a fail safe in it and the esc cant handle any motor under a 15t

If you were bashing it good and overheated the motor you could have damaged the esc. Just went through this with my sons slash. Changed the motor because I figured it was damaged because the heat and ended up needing to replace the esc. We have a brushless system BTW if it makes a difference and were at a track running it on 3cell tearing it up.
