Mamba Max (not Pro) and BEC?

I have a Mamba Max,not the pro model in my XR10 that I picked up used. When I search I can't find the internal BEC rating on this. It came with a 3S pack and I will be using a Hitec 5955TG with it. Do I need an external BEC? I bought one off ebay and it still hasn't come but want to be able to use this, just not sure if I will have power issues without the BEC. Should I use a 2S until I get the BEC? Any thoughts? Thanks

The MM has a relatively low internal voltage setting below 5v, running two motors and a strong steering servo without a BEC dedicated to the steering servo your servo will stall when your turning and running both motors.

So yes you'll need a BEC if you want the best performance out of your steering,

BEC YES. Running without a BEC on 3s you risk burning up the ESC.

You may be able to run on 2s, but it still may stall out.

Don't worry aboutmrunning 3S packs thriugh your Mamba Max it's as tough as they come and rated for 3S, I run 4S packs in mine all the time and mines 4 years old.
