| Twin stick radio for a scaler
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums and I have a question about how to use a twin stick radio with the axial scx10 and what radio you suggest I should use. I was leaning toward either a spectrum dx6i or a dx5e because I would like to use 4ws and a winch or two. Any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thanks, Reed |

Twin sticks are great for getting >4 channels and controlling the front and rear steering independently on each stick. I did this for a while on my 4WS crawler and loved it, but then I got a 4PL and I switched my crawler to it for other reasons. I don't know those radios, but for a scaler the more channels the better so you can control more accessories. |

I use a DX-6 and love it, very versatile radio.

Thanks losikid I have heard about your great work. I looked into it but are there any other pistol grip radios with many channels?

Nvm, I looked into your gt3b radio and I was wondering how to use 4ws and a winch or two. Also is it easy or does it take a lot of programming? Thanks

There's no more programming involved than any other radio...you just have to be able to use the manual efficiently because the lcd is extremely limited so all the new menus are hidden and settings have 3 digit acronyms. Don't get me wrong, programming is easy and quite intuitive if you have the manual in front of you for the first few times, then you get the gist and its not too bad | |

| Re: Twin stick radio for a scaler I've been using a DX6i for a few years for crawlers and scalers. The biggest "mod" I did was for the left joystick. I opened up the radio, unscrewed the entire joystick assembly and rotated it 90* so that the spring return functioned in a up and down fashion, I assigned this to my throttle for the RC cars. ( I believe that this is the rudder for an airplane) and I use the right joystick for left and right steering. I also have a few channel blended so that a 'gear down' switch basically turns on the winch and the right joystick 'up and down' becomes 'in and out' for the winch.
