Default Lipo?

Ok, a couple months back i purchased a Venom Safari. It was converted to regular venom creeper haha but I kept the stock electronics..

So i have the Venom 240a reverse esc. I really want to purchase a lipo! I read that "Thunder Power" lipo's are very high quality. So I was just looking to see if i could get some info on what the "_ _C" means? like 45C, 15C etc. Also the mAh is going to determine my run time?

What im looking for is a battery that is going to give me LONG run time!!!!!!!!!!!

WOuld this one work ? What does the 45C mean?

P.s. (Please excuse my noob)

Ok 2700 mah will give you a good amount of run time. Now...
C= punch
MAH= runtime.
Higher c=more torque
Higher mah= more runtime. A good battery i have is 1550mah at 45c. Run time i get like 4 hours from my 5000mah

That would depend on if you want to wait an hour for a bat to charge or 10min.

Ive got a Thunder AC6 from Hobbypartz. Works great!

One thing to keep in mind when shopping for batteries for a crawler, is sometimes its best to keep the battery smaller and swap them when needed, rather than buying one HUGE battery to keep your rig running for a while. Its more of a weight issue than anything.

That said, I can run close to 2 hours on my 3000mAh 3s 40c batteries.

The battery you posted in your link is a little overkill IMO, and expensive.

Sky Lipo 3000mAh 7.4V 40C

I use those, and they work well. When doing my research for the Lipo switch, I read that for crawlers 30-45c is a good spot to shoot for.

As for the comment above me, its always a good idea to charge your Lipo's as slow as possible. Helps them last longer.

If you are comping, get something smaller like 1050 or 1550 mah with no less than 30c. For bashing and messing around, you can get as big a batttery as you want but i have a 5000 and it lasts longer than 4 hours. Just try to mount the battery as low as you can so it has good ability too.

Thats a hell of a lot more than you will ever need. Unless you plan on running for more than 6 hours.

Ok, it appears nobody actually answered your question so i'll give it a shot. A "C" rating on a lipo describes the maximum discharge rate that it will safely handle. So for instance, if you are running a 1300 mah battery rated at 30C, it is able to discharge at a rate 30 times its capacity. Its capacity is 1300 mah, or 1.3 AMP hours. SO that is 1.3 amps per hour. 30C means that you can discharge it at 30 times that, or 39 amps. If you have a 4000 mah battery rated at 20C, it can do 80 amps (4.0x20). As you can see, the 20C battery can supply twice the continuous power of the 30C battery. So don't get hung up on the "C" rating by itself. It does NOT actually equate to "punch" or "torque" directly, but is rather a factor in determining the power the battery can supply.

The other thing to consider is more tricky, since it involves whether a pack is really capable of its rating. Like trying to determine if a 20C battery is really able to discharge at 20C, and so on. I don't have any good recommendations there, other than going off others experience and respected brands.

Thats a really good explaination of it. Just think, the comp crawlers normally run 30-45c.
