Default fxr? Glitches only when turning right and use third channel

When I turn right and use the dig the system glitches and the dig servo runs on a mind of its own, back and forth as long as I hold right. The RC turns red like it loses signal. If I hit the throttle it stops or let off the wheel it will stop.

I have a FXR, futaba 3pm-mx/ r603ff, castle bec hooked into RX.
I was about to wire up according to the "definitive" wiring diagram posted on here as i have wired my XR10 but dont want to until i figure out this issue.

7950 steering servo and a JR 8917hv for a dig servo.

running 3s lipo 1300mah and 1000mah.

HH 16t crawlmaster.

I have run this set up for a long time with no issue.

Recently I made the wires to the battery about 2" longer and shortened up the rest of all the wires.
I went through and looked for shorted wires and or bad connections and couldn't find anything.

Reset the radio to factory settings and set it all up again. (EPAs and trim etc)
I also re-calibrated the the radio to the esc and TX to RX. Plugged in the BEC to the castle link to make sure it was set and it was.

Anyone have a suggestion on what is going on and or how to fix it?
Thanks for any help...

I would start by rechecking the steering EPA's.

A stalled steering servo can draw a lot of power. Couple that with other items, a high power to start with and you have the beginning of a potential issue.

I would then look to loose connections for the RX, battery & servo.

When you did the work to the wiring did you make it so some wires are closer to each other or the receiver?

Ill back the EPAs to 95% and see if that affects it. Both left and right EPA'a are over 100%

It is only when its turned right.

The connections i have gone over. Also have cut any zip ties too.

As far as the wires and components being close together, before I shortened the wires the RX, bec and ESC were all right on top of each other and the wires were a big rats nest in between all that. This shortening and reorganizing was to get rid of the rats nest.

The RX bec and esc are now seperated and the wires are not as close as they were.(if thats makes any sense lol)

Good call Charlie-III.

I unhooked the servo from the drag link and turned down the EPA's to 95%. That way there is no pressure on the servo.. Sure enough I could not get it to happen at all.

BUT I hooked up the drag link with the EPA still down and it still happens, only not every time. It is more random. Turned the EPA all the way up and happens every time.

Thanks for the suggestion!
It needs a new drag link and tie rod and new rod ends.
So Ill get that done tomorrow. the servo arm binds against the tie rod at full throw, both ways, but it has always been like that. The power to hold it there maybe got to be too much.

Also ill see about getting a new capacitor on the FXR as well as wiring the BEC directly to the 7950. Taking out of the RX.

Glad you found it & it's an easy fix.

I power the rig off, then steer to mechanical bind in each direction, then power back up and set the EPA's to just short of that point.

Stalled servo is a fast way to burn out the servo or strip gears.

Have fun.
